Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals has been Phi Mu’s national philanthropic partner since 1986. “To lend to those less fortunate a helping hand.” The first line of Phi Mu’s Creed has been a call to serve others since it was written more than 100 years ago. From our earliest days of supporting a health mobile that delivered health care to women and children in rural areas to supporting toy carts for children in hospitals to our current partnership with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, Phi Mu has long been committed to lending a helping hand to those in need.
We are proud to be the only sorority to partner with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and have an alliance with the National Women’s History Museum. We were also the first sorority to establish a National Philanthropy Day more than 20 years ago. Lending a helping hand is at the heart of who we are as Phi Mus.
Theta Alpha's Philanthropy
Philanthropy is at the heart of the Theta Alpha Chapter of Phi Mu. We are proud to support Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, with our fundraising efforts benefiting Children's of Alabama in Birmingham. Throughout the year, we host signature events such as BonnaMu, an annual concert, and Miracle Man, a campus-wide pageant featuring participants from organizations across the University of North Alabama. Leading up to BonnaMu, we celebrate Bonna Week with events like Carnations for Kids and Charge Up for CMN Hospitals, and we also partner with local Florence businesses to host monthly Spirit Nights, where a portion of each day's sales is donated to Children's. Thanks to the generosity of our members, campus community, alumni, and local supporters, Theta Alpha raised more than $25,000 for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals during the 2025–2026 academic year, making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their families.
