Scholarship

Our chapter proudly offers support to achieve academic excellence as well. Members can receive everything from a study-bug (tutor) to scholarship money from our National organization. With the help of our Academic Excellence chair, members can expect to leave college with better time-management skills and confidene in their academic achievements.

Opportunities that are available to members include the following:

  • Up to 90 scholarship programs that total over $100,000. The scholarships are given to outstanding undergraduate and graduate members to continue their academic studies. Many of the scholarships are provided by endowed funds established by members or families. The scholarship award amounts range from $500 to $5000 for the academic year.
  • Scholarship 'A' Charms are awarded at the end of each semester to all members who earn a 4.0 GPA. The Henry Family Fund, established by Past National President Ada Martin Henry, Rho, and her family provides for this program.
  • Phi Mu Foundation makes educational grants to Phi Mu Fraternity to use for leadership and citizenship programs such as education seminars, the Advisers' Forum, leadership training and educational materials.

Often an unknown fact to many, Phi Mu Fraternity originally began as the Philomathean literary society, and although the Fraternity's name has changed, a tradition for high scholarship ideals has remained.
